David Garrison
David Garrison has been in the fire service for over 20 years. Born in Capay Valley he started his career with Capay Valley Fire Department and eventually worked his way up to Captain. After high school Chief Garrison moved to Phoenix AZ to pursue a degree in Diesel and Industrial Technology before moving back to Yolo County. While working with Capay Valley Fire Chief Garrison has said his favorite experiences were when all the districts would work together on the large grain fires in the Dunnigan area. In 2012 Chief Garrison married his wife Amanda, a dispatcher at Yolo County 911. They now have 2 daughters who aspire to go into the emergency services career field. In 2017 Chief Garrison started working at Dunnigan Fire Department as an engineer to help provide leadership and training to Dunnigan Fire’s younger members. In 2021, after the previous chief stepped down Chief Garrison was selected by the board of commissioners to take over the leadership of the Dunnigan Fire Department. Since taking over as the chief, he has made teamwork and interoperations with the northern county districts a priority and has made his personal goal to bring volunteers back to Dunnigan Fire Department. Chief Garrison has an open-door policy and loves public feedback. Please call him with any comments or criticism.
